Girls’ Day 2026
Under the slogan “We move IT. You move DONAT.”, DONAT IT GmbH opened its doors last Thursday to the next generation of female IT talent. The curious schoolgirls seized the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at an IT service provider to discover just how varied career paths in the digital world can be.
The day began with a presentation that went far beyond dry statistics. The participants gained an insight into our corporate culture and learnt about our apprenticeship programme for IT specialists in application development. During an open Q&A session, the girls were able to ask anything that interested them – from “What does a typical working day look like?” to “What do I need to bear in mind when applying?”. Our trainer was on hand to answer questions, provided valuable first-hand application tips and outlined what a successful career start at DONAT IT can look like.

AI workshop and coding games
This was followed by the first highlight of the day: an AI workshop. At a time when artificial intelligence touches almost every aspect of life, it was important to us not to just talk about theory. The pupils delved into how it works and learnt how to use AI tools sensibly and creatively in everyday life. Whether it was about generating content or understanding the models behind it, there was certainly no shortage of fun to be had whilst trying things out.

After so much input, the group lunch break with pizza was just what was needed. It gave the girls a chance to reflect on what they’d learnt in a relaxed atmosphere. Refreshed and re-energised, they then plunged into the world of programming. With a programming game, the participants not only learnt their first code, but were also able to playfully improve their skills from level to level.
Girls’ Day 2026 was a resounding success for everyone involved. We are proud to be able to show young girls that IT is not solely a male-dominated field, but a place for creativity and innovation. We are already looking forward to perhaps welcoming some of these young women back to us soon as trainees or interns. A heartfelt thank you to all the participants for your commitment.
